Val d'Orcia

I Met a Bird in the Sky in Val d'Orcia, Tuscany - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

The landscape of the UNESCO world heritage site of Val d'Orcia in Tuscany, Italy is one of the most expressive in my opinion.

I love the movement of the curves, the changes of highlights and shadows,  and the postures of the trees, especially those of the famous cypress trees that line the properties.  And then, one day, I looked up the sky and saw a bird.  I whispered in her ears and let her bring my happy weekend wishes to you. :-)

Under the Tuscan Sun ... - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

Close your eyes, and you see rolling hills covered by spreading vineyards, with leaves waving and grapes glistering in the warm golden sheen.  Would you have imagined there is a piece of land, under the same sun, that could be bare during certain season of the year, but it's also more "rolling"?  It's the UNESCO listed World Heritage Site of Val d'Orcia,  the strip of land that's been celebrated by painters from the Scuola Senese, which flourished during the Renaissance.

The landscape is so suggestive that I find my imagination flying off the roof.  Wait... Roof?  Anyway, you get the point.

Stay tuned.  I assure you that there will be more about Val d'Orcia forth-coming.
