Valentine's Day

Timeless in Limited Time - Los Angeles Transformational Beauty Photographer

I love it when Lunar New Year rolls around way after the holiday season’s over for the "Western countries”. There’s a little secret that I’ve kept to myself and it’s not because of the feasts and gifts that usually come with it. It actually makes me feel that I have another chance to have a new start as if I haven’t squandered the time of the year since January 1st. ;P

Yet, I’m grown-up enough to know that I have no one to cheat but myself. My time, like that of everyone else in this world, is counted. As we have all pretty much lost the last two years, it’s more imperative for me to create something timeless, something that will stand the test of time even when I am not here anymore.

The month of love is upon us. To me, it’s a reminder that everyday is a gift. And it’s the beginning of the life-long practice in self-exploration and honoring ourselves for the beauty that we have and bring to this world.

Speaking of timeless, how does fine art work printed on archival paper that’s been hand-made in Amalfi, Italy for hundreds of years and wrapped in real Italian leather? Fill out the form below and let’s talk:

This Valentine's Day, I Wish You Compatible Weirdness - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

I thought it was funny that my eyes gravitate towards interesting (ahem, weird) couples in the animal kingdom.

But then, it seems the feeling is mutual. These two king penguins came to check out me and my Assistante. It must be proof that our funky spirit somehow vibrates on the same frequency that they do.

Dr. Seuss says ”We're all a little weird, and life's a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”

I’m glad that we got the seal of approval from the unbiased judges that we stayed on our paths of being weird after years of marriage.

This Valentine’s Day, I hope you are celebrating your authentic weirdness with your compatible other.

Unless you prefer the picture depicted by Ray Barone (as in Everybody Loves Raymond):

“You wake up, she's there. You come back from work, she's there. You fall asleep, she's there. You eat dinner, she's there. You know? I mean, I know that sounds like a bad thing, but it's not."

The choice is yours. Cheers!

This Valentine's Day, I Wish You Love! - Los Angeles Fine Art Photographer

Most, if not all, love relationships start out beautifully. Sweet romance, and deadly attraction are some sample words that came to my mind. :D

What may be unbeknown to some is that love relationships, just like life, have their own stages. If you’ve lived long enough, you will see darkness in life. Similarly, if you’ve loved long enough, you will experience doubt, frustration and/or anger (not all inclusive, and not necessarily in that order) associated with the many stages involved.

Maybe you are lucky and haven’t felt the way the penguin in the below image feels. And maybe you are not a penguin. Nonetheless, I wish you love on this Valentine’s Day. As the late Leo Buscaglia puts it, "No one gets out of this world alive, so the time to live, learn, care, share, celebrate, and love is now."

In the name of love, I’d also like to share some parting words, stealing from Leo Buscaglia:”A loving relationship is one in which the loved one is free to be himself - to laugh with me, but never at me; to cry with me, but never because of me; to love life, to love himself, to love being loved. Such a relationship is based upon freedom and can never grow in a jealous heart.”

Now, go love, be loved, share and spread love. Now!
