Italian Drama in Foligno, Italy - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

Italians are no strangers to dramas. After all, opera originated in Italy in the far distant 16th centuray.

While roaming the Piazza San Domenico in Foligno before the historical parade fashioning the Baroque-era outfits, I saw dramatic stories unfolding in front of my eyes, frame after frame.

How would you caption these images if you were me?

One clarification I thought justified to make though - when referring to drama, I was thinking more in the line of Michael Corleone and God Father kind of drama …

… and not the high pitched OMG style.

You see what I mean?

Or until the knight’s checked his connection with the modern world one last time.

I think this horse is more than ready for his show time though.

In a few days, the historical Giostra della Quintana will be held again in the beautiful town of Foligno in Italy, where knights and their horses will compete on speed and skill. But before that, Italian gastronomy and baroque fashion will guarantee to impress.

While we are stuck at home waiting out the pandemic, I’m glad that we got to experience it first hand a couple years ago.

Knights, Dames and More in Foligno, Italy - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

They say it’s in the air. I call it ambiance that I can smell with eyes. In about two weeks, an ancient Italian town of Foligno will be where your eyes meet good-looking Dame and Messeri.

To put out such a medieval setting is no walk in the park. But, I can attest that final touch-ups proved to be fruitful.

Can you believe this much fuss has to do with horses? If you allow me a chance, I can explain.
