He Said "Beautiful" - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

Despite people’s hostility to camera, my eyes and mind never stopped searching for photography opportunity. In the Sahara desert, my urge to photograph this Amazighs boy overcame my hesitation. He was leading the camels for another group and I couldn’t pass the opportunity to the possible reaction to my proposal to photograph him.

To my surprise, he reluctantly agreed. I quickly got into position and made this image, before he had a chance to change his mind or change his position for what he thought he should look like to a photographer. I wanted him as the way he was.

When he saw himself at the back of the camera, “beautiful” was the word that he said.

That made my day, because I know I’ve got free pass to photograph him from then on.

What Is That Bird? - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

Spotting the ever-elusive birds in the rain forest of the Amazons is a daunting task, especially when vision was never claimed to be my strength. So, when this bird, in broad daylight, presents herself in front of me, I’d wipe my eyes first.

It looks like she is dropping by from Jurassic Park to pay us a visit. I mean, who would give her babies a pair of claws on their wings?

So, what is that bird, you ask.

Ummm, I’d be more interested in asking if she personally knows a dinosaur or two.

Isn’t it fun to be spending time with these odd birds?

I’d say, just as long as I have a real bed in this world to sleep on when the night falls.

Oh please, don’t say this sunset is other-worldly. I need to come back from the Cretaceous, remember?

Me and My Shadow - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

I have a shadow. But I think I’m the better-looking one, if there is such thing.

My shadow follows me around and tries to copy what I do.

Sometimes, I’m not even sure if I’m me or my shadow.
