Fishing Village on Pellestrina Island of Venice - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

Florence (Firenze) was not the only city where we craved to get out for air.  Venice is unfortunately another city that's suffered from too many tourists.  Lucky for us, in its fishing village on the Pellestrina Island, we found peace.  Over there, we saw the genuine life that we seek wherever we travel.

Before sun-down, people all come out.  What better view is there to beat the view of the setting sun on the lagoon right out the front door?  It must be a privilege to just pull a chair in order to enjoy such a view.

But, do they know an even better view follows after they've all gone indoors when it gets dark?  Good things happen to those that wait.  Just saying... :-)

How Burano, Italy was Uncliched - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

I've longed to visit Burano, the small island close to Venice, before I knew photography.  In this corner of the world, color palettes seem to have met their matches.

When it's easy to splash colors inadvertently, especially for the chroma-loving creature like moi, I decided to get out of my mold.  Yes, for the new year and new spring, this is what I did to "uncliche" the often over-done.  What element do you recognize that's beyond color(s)?

I hope you agree that my Assistante sure out-did his performance in Florence (Firenze), Italy.

If you are going to fly, do it with a flair - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

When you are born with a pair of wings, you are meant to fly.  While you are at it, soar as high as possible.  The view will guarantee to be different.

We've been eyeing this beauty for a while.  So, when we knew we would meet them in the Galapagos, my Assistante had been asking about the viewing possibility every day of the trip.  And even with such persistent effort, we almost missed them.  At an unexpected opportunity, we seized the chance and made the trip (even) more fulfilling. :-)

Her name (could have been a he as well :-)) is red-billed tropicbird.  You may wonder why the red lips, the eye-liners, and even the long tassels fluttering in the air while it's flying?  To be honest, I don't know.  But they sure catch attention.  At least they got me and my Assistante obsessed.

Oh, this just gave an idea.  Let me add to what I said earlier - when you fly, soar as high as possible and make sure to do it with a flair!

Are you flying in style? ;-)
